You can't make a phone that everyone loves and Apple is not even trying. Much like any other iPhone so far, the iPhone 4 is a phone that everybody loves AND hates.
Apple’s latest is always the greatest – you have to give them that. Sometimes it seems they put less effort into making it than in letting people know they did. But with the Apple iPhone 4, they were obviously hard at work. The 4th generation iPhone has an all new look, new feel and plenty of new skill. We already caught a glimpse of the iOS4. Software wise, iOS 4 has refreshed the handset and continues to showcase Apple's stance in offering an intuitive platform that can easily be adopted by a broad range of customers. Simple and straightforward is the game when it comes to navigating across the platform as anyone will have an easy time with its short learning curve. However, it still has a lot to go in truly embodying the aura of perfection. Personalization is still lax, even after Apple's fourth iPhone, but they've only begun to break the mold – so hopefully things down the pipeline may address its shortcomings.





The Apple iPhone 4 is not the perfect phone. It suffers from certain problems with its signal reception (at least some units do), call quality is not excellent, photos taken with the 5MP camera are pretty good, but we've seen better, FaceTime is only available via Wi-Fi for the moment, multitasking is yet to be utilized by developers... We can always find a bunch of drawbacks to exploit. However, over the years we've come to believe that it is fairly easy to point out the exact disadvantages of the iPhone. And, in a way, we believe this is because everything else found under the hood works like a dream. From dialing a contact, through web browsing, to playing a 3D game - there's hardly a phone on the market that does all that in an easier and more seamless way.



It all comes down to personal preference. The Apple iPhone 4 has a display of better quality, but smaller size, when compared, for example, to the HTC EVO 4G, Motorola DROID X or Samsung Galaxy S – some of the best Android phones out there. The iPhone 4 lacks the 4G connectivity (which, as a matter of fact, you might never get), but its App Store sports about 4 times more apps, with each being about 5 times better in value. Its iOS 4.0 does not feature active homescreen widgets to show you what the weather is like on the outside, like Android does, but it would never freeze, crash or lag. As we said, it's all a matter of personal taste.

So our advice is... simply decide for yourself what you want from your smartphone, and how you want it. =)

Tutorial D: Kaedah-kaedah keselamatan dan penjimatan bandwidth dalam penggunaan ICT


Istilah bandwidth selalu dipakai dalam penawaran paket hosting dari perusahaan hosting. Bandwidth adalah besaran lalu lintas data yang diperbolehkan melalui website kita ke seluruh internet. Besaran bandwidth yang disediakan oleh perusahaan hosting ditentukan oleh koneksi jaringan mereka, baik yang melalui internal data center mereka mahupun ke eksteandwidth transfer data yang diperbolehkan dalam suatu paket hosting. Misalnya jika kita memiliki halaman web sebesar 48kb, maka setiap pengunjung halaman web kita yang membuka halaman tersebut akan download informasi dan data yang sebesar 48kb ke dalam komputer mereka. Jika ada halaman 100 pengunjung ke halaman tersebut maka telah terjadi transfer data sebesar 4800kb daripada server yang mana file kita berada di dalam komputer. Jadi bandwidth ialah istilah yang digunakan untuk menunjukkan besaran data yang telah ditransfer keluar daripada kuota space hosting kita.
Dengan perkataan lain pula, bandwidth dikatakan sebagai jalan raya yang memberi laluan kepada kenderaan berlainan saiz. Jalan raya tersebut akan sesak pada masa tertentu apabila semua orang menggunakannya pada waktu yang sama. Sebaliknya, jalan raya tersebut akan berjalan lancar pada masa orang kurang menggunakannya.

Besaran bandwidth yang kita buntuhkan bergantung daripada 2 faktor :
1.) besar file dalam website kita - semakin besar file yang akan diakses oleh pengunjung website kita, maka semakin besar kebutuhan bandwidth kita.
2.) populatitas website kita - semakin popular website kita , maka akan semakin ramai pengunjung yang akan melihat website kita dan semakin besar pula kebutuhan bandwidth kita.

Ada rumusan sederhana yang biasa digunakan untuk memperkirakan berapa kebutuhan bandwidth bagi website kita (sumber: www.findmyhosting.com), iaitu : Rata-rata pengunjung setiap hari x Rata-rata halaman web dilihat x Rata-rata ukuran file halamn web x 31 x Fudge Factor

Semakin besar kapasiti bandwidth, semakin bagus. Fakta ini boleh dikaitakan dengan jalan raya. Traffik akan berjalan dengan lebih lancar di atas jalan raya yang lebih lebar berbanding dengan jalan kampung. Justeru itu, ini bersamaan dengan fakta yang dinyatakan tadi iaitu semakin besar kapasity bandwidth tersebut, semakin senang bagi kita untuk akses ke website kita.



Some website put a cap on the usage, depending on the package we got.Example : our webhostandwidthing provider will give us 10GB of bandwidth per month which means users can freely get to our website until the count reach 10GB. At this point, the access will be block automatically & our users will receive a message like this "website has exceeded its monthly bandwidth utilization. The count will reset after certain time. So if our website will be a high traffic website or business website, we may want to get a package with a big bandwidth cap or unlimited. We can explain this with two examples :

Eg 1) We got 1GB per month. Let's say we have about 500mb of data on our website. We give access to 10 users. Each user will download about 50MB daily on average. So 50MB times 10 users equal to 500MB. So on the first day, we have used 500MB worth of bandwidth. If our users keep up the same pace, we'd meet our bandwidth limit on the second day of the month. If we started the service on the forst of the month, our isp will reset our bandwidth count back to 0 on the first of next month.


Eg 2) Contohnya kita ada satu tabung, tabung itu boleh muat 25 biji duit 50sen. Keluarga kita akan masukkan duit 50sen pada bila-bila masa. Apabila tabung tersebut penuh, kita akan simpan dalam bank. Akan tetapi, bank hanya akan menerima pada hari pertama dalam setiap bulan. Justeru itu, kita harus menunggu sehingga hari pertama pada bulan depan untuk mengosongkan tabung kita dan bermula untuk menabung lagi.

8 ways to save bandwidth surfing
1)Set auto disconnect
Example: Broadband
2)Turn off superfluos media
Use search engine like Google more than Yahoo. It's because less image on Google. Multimedia is the biggest source of bandwidth.
3)Avoid unneccessary or large download
No bit torrents, downloading of media, online gaming, discourage file sharing on IM
4)Avoid streams
Discourage media streaming or online TV, Skype, Youtube, and other audio or web cam transmissions. If users have to upload some video/audio it might be a good idea to set up a schedule.
5)Clean homepage
Cleanest the smaller page ever.
6)Turn off system internet use where possible
Turn off ones that search the internet for updates, turn off Windows auto update, close any widgets or sidebar items that are also getting web information. This also includes closing program like email clients that automatically access the internet periodicallu.
7)Make sure you're coaching
Make sure your system isn't downloading content every time you visit pages.

Hands On With the Motorola Droid RAZR (Smartphone)


The Motorola Droid RAZR is the most gorgeous Android phone yet, and it definitely lives up to its name.
                   The Motorola Droid RAZR is the thinnest smartphone on the market, at .28 inches.

The Droid RAZR is one of those phones that feels even better in the hand than it does in pictures. Yes, it's ridiculously thin at 0.28 inches, smooth, and its material textures are a bit strange. Fingers couldn't quite place the feeling of the Kevlar back panel. It feels like plastic, but a little silkier. The 960-by-540, blessedly not-PenTile-format screen is an absolute stunner. It uses Samsung Super AMOLED Plus technology, Motorola said, but it's higher-res than any Samsung phone we've seen so far. The colors looked almost painted on.
This is a big phone, that's for sure, but that's the case with all 4.3-inch-display phones. There's also a considerable bezel around the screen, something Motorola's designers said they were working on reducing in future models. But it's still very handle-able, just because it's so darn thin.
The phone has the usual complement of ports, The top edge has a bulge for the 8-megapixel camera, so that's where Motorola also stuck the USB, HDMI, and headset jacks. On the side, there's a little door revealing the LTE SIM and MicroSD memory card slots. I couldn't find any way to remove the 1,800 mAh battery.
Motorola made some changes to the standard Android home screen and interface. The calendar widget, for instance, is Motorola's.

The phone runs a Moto-rized version of Android 2.3.5, with Motorola's social-networking widgets, a new power manager, and a bunch of extra apps. Stock Android fans won't be impressed, but everything ran apparently smoothly on the 1GHz dual-core, Qualcomm S3 processor. 




How's It So Thin?
The Droid RAZR uses a standard 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm S3 processor with separate CDMA and LTE modems, not the single-chip Qualcomm 8960 solution that's coming next year. The need to include a separate LTE chip has been cited by several manufacturers as why they can't get their phones razor-thin yet. So how did Motorola do it?
The company pared away layers and pieces that other phones take for granted, Motorola designers told me. For instance: most phones with removable batteries have a lining around the battery cavity. Not so with the Droid RAZR. Other phones, for instance the iPhone 4S, have their antennas perpendicular to the body of the phone. The Droid RAZR's antennas lie flat.
Using a dual-layer Samsung Super AMOLED Plus display helped save thickness over both LCD displays (because of the lack of a backlight) and standard Super AMOLED (because of a reduced number of process layers.)
The total re-engineering of internal design in the Droid RAZR reminds me a lot of the original RAZR, which at the time of its launch was also a radical experiment in materials design. And like with the original RAZR, we may see the Droid RAZR's advances coming to a family of phones, the designers said. I asked about flip phones; they parried back with "folding phones" and phones that, in some way, start out smaller and become larger. A physically smaller, but still slab-shaped Droid RAZR variant may also be possible.
The 8-megapixel camera resides in a bulge on the back. The back of the phone is made of Kevlar, which feels silky-smooth to the touch.



Droid RAZR With a Side of Ice Cream?
The Droid RAZR comes at a strange time, and in a strange place. It wipes away the Droid Bionic, Motorola's excellent smartphone that the company released just a few weeks ago, but it comes just a few hours before Google—Motorola's parent company—announces Ice Cream Sandwich, the new version of the Android OS, in Hong Kong.
As if to cement Google's support, Google executive chairman Eric Schmidt was sitting near me at the launch. But he didn't get up and didn't say a word.
Motorola spokeswoman Juli Burda said the company had nothing to say about Ice Cream Sandwich. Ditto for Verizon Wireless spokeswoman Brenda Raney. But we'll see if they change their tunes tomorrow.
The Motorola Droid RAZR goes on pre-sale on Oct. 27 for $299 with a two-year contract.

Tutorial C: Isu etika dan risiko dalam penggunaan ICT

ISU ETIKA DALAM PENGGUNAAN ICT
Pada masa dulu, etika cuma dibahaskan pada peringkat teori, tetapi pada zaman yang serba moden ini harus diaplikasikan dalam bentuk amalan atau tindakan.  Isu etika semakin banyak diperkatakan dalam era teknologi maklumat kerana teknologi telah mengubah sifat dan tabii etika.

(a) Cracker 
-Merupakan golongan yang menceroboh ke dalam sistem komputer dan merosakkan sistem yang ada dengan tujuan untuk membuat keuntungan.  Mereka tidak mencipta software atau perisian, tetapi mereka menggunakan perisian orang lain untuk tujuan kemusnahan.  Tindakan mereka adalah sama sekali tidak beretika dan merupakan kerja yang tidak baik.

(b) Penyebaran virus dengan cara merosakkan sistem, data, software,melumpuhkan rangkaian komputer dan lain-lain lagi.

(c) Hak Cipta

-Memuat turun sebarang perisian atau dokumen tanpa kebenaran.  Perkara ini telah menjadi perkara lumrah bagi  masyarakat kerana hal seperti memuat turun muzik, lagu(MP3) dan movie tidak lagi asing bagi mereka.  Sebanarnya keizinan daripada pemiliknya adalah perlu.

(d) Isu Utusan Dengan Namewee
-Utusan mengatakan sesuatu yang kurang baik tentang filem Nsi Lemak 2.0 di mana pengarah filem tersebut merupakan Namewee.  Wartawan utusan tersebut dikatakan telah menyalahgunakan penggunaan ICT, begitu juga dengan etika Ict.  Berita ini diuar-uarkan tidak kira melalui akhbar ataupun internet telah menarik perhatian orang ramai.

(e)Nicholas Allegran 
-Comex merupakan nama samaran web yang digunakan oleh Nicholas.  Nicholas telah berjaya menceroboh dan memasuki ke pprating system Apple.  Beliau hanya berumur 19 tahun dan merupakan seorang yang hacker.  Beliau juga yang memajukan dan menaik taraf jail Break 3.0 iphone dan ipad.  Walaupun beliau merupakan genius dan kini telah diupah oleh syaraikat Apple untuk bekerja di sana.  Tetapi, beliau tetap merupakan seorang hacker, iaitu penceroboh perisian Apple.  Tindakan beliau tetap salah.  Walaupun tindakan Nicholas ini bukan melakukan pencurian, tetapi beliau telah merosakkan Apple store.  Di samping mencari kelemahan Apple dan secara tidak langsung telah menyebabkan syarikat Apple rugi.
 
RISIKO DALAM PENGGUNAAN ICT 

Memang tidak dapat dinafikan teknologi ICT banyak membantu kita pada zaman globalisasi.  Saya juga dapat berimaginasi bahawa jika tanpa kewujudan teknologi, manusia adalah tidak dapat hidup kerana teknologi telah banyak membantu mengurangkan beban hidup kita.  Manusia kini telah terlalu bergantung kepada teknologi.  Adalah sukar berpatah balik bagi mereka.  Tetapi wujud juga keburukan semasa menggunakan teknologi seperti kerosakan fizikal peralatan, membawa kerugian yang besar kepada masyarakat atau pengguna apabila pemindahan modal yang besar.

Masalah E banking juga merupakan salah satu risiko dalam penggunaan ICT.  Pembelian tiket penerbangan melalui e banking mempunyai risikonya.  Kadangkala sistem masih belum mendapat bayaran daripada pembeli boleh menyebabkan pembeli mempunyai prasangka bahawa dia belum membuat bayaran.  Tetapi pada masa yang sama, jumlah wang di bank juga telah 'dipotong'.  Keadaan ini memang boleh menyebabkan hati pengguna tidak tenteram.

Rangkaian WWW membawa pengaruh negatif terhadap kehidupan bandar.  Contoh pengeboman di bandar Oklahoma dipercayai hasil sebaran maklumat melaui internet.

-Maklumat kebencian berterbangan dalam rangkaian internet.  Kesemuanya ditujukan kepada sesetengah pemimpin negara.  Gejala ini berupaya menjanakan kebencian dan kekeliruan dalam kalangan pengguna internet yang mempercayai terus dengan maklumat yang diperolehi.  Keadaan ini boleh mencetuskan kekacauan di dalam bandar.  Rusuhan telah berlaku beberapa bulan lalu di sekitar Kuala Lumpur dan hal ini berpotensi dicetuskan selagi masyarakat tidak mempunyai pemikiran kritikal untuk menilai kesahihan maklumat tersebut.

Internet membawa maklumat lucah yang boleh menjanakan masalah sosial terutamanya jenayah.  Rangkaian internet saluran tidak sihat.  Pada tahun ini, di singapura terdapat 5 gadis dan 1 wanita telah dirogol oelh 'kawan' yang mereka kenali melalui internet atau telefon.  Singapura merupakan 1 negara pengguna internet yang tinggi disebabkan dasar kerajaannya mengalakkan kecelikan komputer bagi menghadapi kemajuan abad ke-21.

Apple has announced that iPhone 4S taking over 4 million sales since it went on sale on Friday. Let's have a look on what's interesting about iPhone 4S.




iPhone 4S looks exactly like iPhone 4. But Apple did some upgrades in iPhone 4S, of course.

Siri is the new system which engaged in iPhone 4S, and it has an upgraded camera, as well as the processor and also a redesigned antenna system.

Anyhow, the iPhone 4 was not a slow device. In fact, it performed faster than most other smartphones. Apple was completely controlling over the OS, including the user interface. The iPhone 4S is even much faster than iPhone 4 and it offers up to seven times the graphics performance of iPhone 4. Apps can be open instantly now, no more lagging.

iOS 5 ships with iPhone 4S. This new operating system brings so much features and enhancements to the iOS platform.



New in iOS 5 is iMessage. It is a free messaging service among all iMessage users. iMessage lets you communicate with any other iOS 5 device without a cellular connection. You can also share photos, videos, contacts and etc via iMessage.




Other than all that, iCloud is the biggest addition that comes with iOS 5. With iCloud, you can stop worrying about syncing your content, whether in you iPad, iPod or even in your Computer.

Siri. What's Siri? It can be consider as a personal assistant for every iPhone 4S user. Siri not only respond to ordinary tasks, it has the ability to extent and pull in information from other sources too.

You can even ask Siri to push your appointment from 11am to 3pm, call you friend back, remind you to grab your jacket before going to cinema and etc.

Siri works intentionally with 5 languages for now. Apple will expand Siri to more languages in 2012.


iPhone 4S has a 8-megapixels camera. With face detection, exposure is properly set. Now you can use the volume button as a shutter button,  you do not need to hunt for the on-screen button anymore when taking self-portrait.

Tutorial A: Huraikan sejarah dan intipati sikap 'Luddites' dan 'Determinists' terhadap teknologi


Luddites
Pergerakan Luddite merupakan satu protes pekerja akibat kesan revolusi perindustrian di Britain. Penciptaan mesin wap oleh James Watt (Pencipta England yang memainkan peranan yang penting dalam revolusi perindustrian) pada tahun 1776 merupakan pencetus utama berlakunya pergerakan Luddite. Pada masa itu, teknologi berkembang secara pesat dan berlaku revolusi perindustian. Pada tahun 1813, terdapat lebih daripada 2000 kilang membuat kain (tekstil) dengan menggunakan mesin wap. Pada tahun 1820 pula, jumlah kilang tersebut meningkat kepada 14,000 buah kilang dan mencapai 100,000 buah kilang pada 10 tahun yang datang.

Pada November, tahun 1811, krisis ekonomi yang serius telah berlaku di British kerana hasil penuaian yang tidak baik dan peperangan antara British dengan Perancis (Napoleonic War). Maka, Pergerakan Luddite telah tercetus. Pekerja-pekerja pada masa itu adalah sangat tidak berpuas hati dengan perubahan sistem ekonomi dari pertanian ke perkilangan.  Mereka memusnahkan mesin-mesin membuat kain. Kesan revolusi perindustrian di Britain menyebabkan rakyat Britain terpaksa bertukar pekerjaan iaitu dari buruh pertanian kepada buruh perindustrian. Pergerakan ini amat membantah menggunakan mesin di kilang-kilang disebabkan mereka ingin mengekalkan khidmat pekerja mahir dengan menggunakan kaedah pengeluaran secara tradisional. Pengenalan mesin tenun kain automatik yang boleh dioperasi oleh pekerja yang tidak mahir, maka berlaku pengangguran bagi pekerja mahir. Pekerjaan tradisional yang dimaksudkan merupakan aktiviti pembuatan kraf tangan. Kesan wujudnya ciptaan mesin tenunan yang lebih cepat dan murah, pekerja tradisional terpaksa bekerja di kilang semata-mata untuk mendapatkan upah. Dalam hati mereka, mereka adalah amat benci dan marah terhadap pemilik yang mengganggu kehidupan mereka. Secara tiba-tiba, kilang tenunan bangkrap. Pekerja pada masa itu tidak ambil tahu tentang punca masalah seolah-olah mereka tidak mengetahui sebab hal ini berlaku. Malah, secara peribadi, pekerja-pekerja  yang anti mesin adalah amat tidak berpuas hati dan mereka tleh berkumpul untuk membalas dendam.

Pada bulan awal 1811, mereka telah menghantar surat yang menggunakan nama Panglima Ned Ludd atau King Ludd di mana beliau adalah tokoh dalam mitos kepada pemilik kilang di Nottingham bagi memberi amaran terhadap keadaan kilang dan jumlah upah yang diberikan.  Pemberontakan mula bocor berdekatan British. Dalam pertempuran ini telah berlaku pembunuhan. Willian Horsfall telah dibunuh dan merupakan salah seorang pemilik kilang.  Kemudian, pemimpin Luddite ditangkap dan dibuang ke Australia menjelang 1817. Selepas itu, pergerakan Luddite tidak lagi aktif di britain.


Determinists

Mengikut pandangan Determinist, teknologi dilihat sebagai "penggerak utama" dalam sejarah. Determinist menganggap bahawa teknologi dalam sesebuah masyarakat memandukan pembangunan struktur sosial dan nilai budaya masyarakat tersebut. Berdasarkan Determinist, pembangunan teknikal yang tertentu, teknologi komunikasi atau media dan teknologi yang am adalah penyebab kepada perubahan masyarakat dan teknologi dilihat sebagai syarat asas di bawah corak organisasi masyarakat. Determinist mentafsirkan teknologi yang am dan teknologi komunikasi tertentu sebagai asas kepada masyarakat pada zaman dahulu, zaman sekarang dan zaman masa akan datang. Sebagainya, teknologi seperti teknologi penulisan, percetakan, televisyen dan komputer telah mengubah masyarakat. Jika dilihat dalam bentuk yang extreme, seluruh bentuk masyarakat adalah dilihat sebagai telah ditentukan oleh teknologi secara keseluruhan. Teknologi baru mentransformasikan masyarakat pada setiap tahap, termasuk institusi, interaksi sosial dan individu.


Wujud dua idea yang umum:
(a) Pembangunan teknologi itu adalah boleh diramal dan merupakan satu jalan untuk mengesan di luar pengaruh kebudayaan atau politik.

(b) Teknologi mempunyai kesan terhadap masyarakat.  Hal ini kerana masyarakat menyokong dan ingin memajukan teknologi sebaik sahaja teknologi tersebut diperkenalkan

Determinist melihat teknologi sebagai asas untuk semua aktiviti manusia. Masalah-masalah juga dapat diselesaikan dengan adanya teknologi.
